Adjusting Router Settings for CloudPhone.ONE

To improve the reliability of our ClouePhone.ONE service at your location, there are a few router settings that can be updated. There are also a few unsupported setups that can reduce call quality and service reliability. Please review the below and reach out to our support team for assistance.

Router Settings to Adjust

  • Disable SIP ALG - If your router has a "VoIP helper" service (typically called "SIP ALG"), it should be disabled.
  • Disable Cut-through Forwarding/Cut-through NAT - If your router has a "cut-through forwarding" or "cut-through NAT" option, it should be disabled.
  • Adjust Ports to Avoid Conflicts - CloudPhone.ONE makes use of the ports below. If you are forwarding these ports or blocking their use, please adjust settings to prevent port conflicts. If you are unable to adjust the port forwarding or port blocking settings at your location, please reach out to our support team to discuss available options.
    • TCP 5060
    • UDP 5060
    • UDP 5061
    • UDP 5080
    • UDP 10000 - 20000
  • Specific Hardware Issues - There are some makes and models of routers that require special configuration, typically due to the higher levels of security these routers provide. VoIP services can definitely work well within these locations, but our support team will be less able to assist with any issues that arise. The following vendors produce routers our team will be able to provide limited support for:
    • FortiNet (including FortiVoice appliances)
    • SonicWall (enterprise models)
    • Cisco Meraki (all models)
