To change extension settings, log into the admin portal, and navigate to Configuration > Extension. After any changes are made, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Volume Boost
If you are finding it hard to hear the other person on your calls, or they are having trouble hearing you, volume settings can be boosted to make calls much more audible. To change these settings, scroll to the Call Settings section and adjust the Volume TX level and Volume RX level settings. The settings here are a bit counter-intuitive, as they are from the perspective of the phone system, not your phone.
Volume TX Level controls what you hear. If you are having trouble hearing the other side of your calls, or what you hear is too loud/distorted, adjust the Volume TX Level setting.
Volume RX Level controls what the other side of your call hears. If the people you are speaking to are having trouble hearing you, or if they are reporting that you are too loud, adjust the Volume RX Level setting.
Level settings are generally between -2.0 and 2.0. Call volume is decreased or increased by the number of decibels entered. The average setting for both fields is 1.5 for softphones, and 1.0 for hardware phones.
