Mobile Forwarding
Note: In general, OnSwitch recommends the use of our Cloud Softphone mobile app rather than forwarding calls to your mobile number. Please only setup Mobile Forwarding if the mobile app does not meet your needs.
Mobile forwarding will re-route calls to your mobile phone number when they try to ring through to your extension. This feature is called "Find me/Follow me" (or "FMFM") in the CloudPhone.ONE platform.
To change mobile forwarding/FMFM settings, scroll to the Find me/Follow me Configuration section. Fill in the fields as follows:
- FMFM Number: Enter the 10 digit phone number that your calls should forward to.
- FMFM Condition: Leave as-is.
- FMFM Dial Method:
- Normal: Ring your VoIP phone/softphone first, and then forward to your mobile.
-
Simultaneous: Ring any VoIP devices/softphones at the same time as your mobile phone.
-
FMFM Dial Method – Request confirmation: If enabled, you will be prompted to press 1 to accept a forwarded call. If you press 1, the caller is bridged to your mobile phone. If you don’t press 1 (or don’t answer the call), the caller is sent to your company voicemail.
The Request confirmation setting is designed to prevent callers from reaching your personal voicemail on your mobile phone.
- Confirm Message/Hold Message/FMFM Delay: Leave at default values.
- FMFM Dial Timeout: The number of seconds that your mobile phone will be rung before the system considers the call unanswered and sends it to voicemail. Measured in seconds. 30 is a sensible starting value.
