Adding a Phone Number

To add a new phone number, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the CloudPhone.ONE admin panel.
  2. In the navigation panel on the left, click on Manage Phone Numbers at the bottom of the menu:


  3. The number management portal will open in a new tab/window. Click on the Add New Number button:


  4. Click the City menu, then select the city (area code) that you wish the new phone number to be in. In this case, we'll choose Peterborough, Ontario as an example:


  5. The page will reload, showing you some available numbers in the selected city. Select a number from the list, and click Add Phone Number when ready:


  6. Allow the system to reserve your number - this takes about 20 seconds. You will see a confirmation message when the number has been successfully reserved:


  7. The number is ready to use immediately, but you must configure a destination for inbound calls before you can make use of it. Close the browser tab to head back to the CloudPhone.ONE admin panel, then navigate to Configuration > DIDs


  8. Click the phone number to edit the number's destination. Under the Voice header, click inside the Destination textbox, and search for the destination on the phone system that should receive calls for this number. In this example, we'll direct calls to Eleanor Robar at extension 223:




  9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button once you have selected a destination.

Your new phone number is now ready to use immediately.
